Demo of Advanced Grass Roots Innovation” meet on 31st Aug 2021
CMR College of Engineering & Technology under the umbrella of Centre for Engineering Education Research (CEER) has organized “Community Partners Meet” and “Demo of Advanced Grass Roots Innovation” meet on 31st Aug 2021. This meet created a platform to interact with NGOs, Sarpanches, Counselors, Academicians and Farmers from different places and discuss the issues of the community and come up with the better solutions.
As we are aware that, according to the latest national educational policy guidelines, School and colleges have to take certain responsibilities, namely to relate and build themselves with the surrounding community, both in identifying and sharing common goals or values and in strategically mobilizing resources to address needs or enhance opportunities of the nearby community.
The Meet started with the lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Sri. Nanduri Satya Surya Prasad Garu, DEO MEDCHAL, Guest of Honor Smt Marri Deepika Narsimha Reddy (Chairperson Medchal Municipality), special guests Cheerla Ramesh (vice-chairperson-Medical Municipality) and Boddu Subhash Chandar(Grassroots Entrepreneur) respectively. CMRGI CEO Mr Abhinav Reddy, CMRCET Principal Major Dr V.A Narayana, Dean FSA and senior faculty of CEER Smt Dr Fatima Mary, CEER HOD Dr Kotishwar.A are among the others.
While addressing the gathering Chief Guest specified about the importance of Education and how the students can help the society with the technology change. Other dignitaries also shared about their views and enlightened the audience with their experience. This meet provided wonderful opportunity to interact and establish reliable networking with the globally reputed leaders of academia and community partners. Total 34 participated in this meet out of which there are 9 farmers, 7 Teachers, 7 Sarpanchs, and 11 NGOs from different villages and places. They introduced themselves and also expressed their intentions for being part of this meet. This platform gave an opportunity for all of us to know the views of the NGO’s, Farmers and how we colleges and schools can help each other for the better society. This meet also show cased the projects implemented by the students of CMRCET related to the issues they observed during their community visit to the nearby villages.
The Outcomes of this meet:

• As planned it gave wide scope for debate and discussion on community issues.
• NGOs projected their work and stated how they can help farmers in every aspects of innovation.
• Two NGOs Youngistan Foundation and Well Wishers Foundation were really impressed by the efforts which the CMRCET has put to bring all the people together who work together for the society and came forward to tie-up an MOU with CMRCET.
• As per DEO’s request the CMRCET and CEER team is ready to provide technical assistance to Tinkering LAB.

CMR College of Engineering & Technology under the umbrella of Centre for Engineering Education Research (CEER) has organized “AWARENESS CAMP ON ECO-FRIENDLY GANESHA IDOLS” camp on 8th SEP 2021. The main objective of this awareness camp is to create awareness and educate villagers on using Clay Ganesh idols. In this campaign faculty members along with student volunteers interacted with, MPTC, ZPTC, Sarpanchs, Counselors, local youth and children. Discussed issues of using plaster of Paris and its consequences to the society. Enlightened the villagers about the importance of using clay.
Ganesh chaturthi is a festival celebrated all over the nation, where people across the nation establish ganesh idols in their homes, and most of the idols were prepared by plaster of Paris. We know how the plaster of Paris is harmful to the environment, concerned with the adverse affects of it, we the members of CEER department from CMR College of engineering & technology came forward to create awareness in the society along with our students. CEER department took an initiative along with college management.
In this camp we have visited four villages yellampet ,ravalkole, rajabolaram, muneerabad , we conducted campaign in all these four villages, were MPTC, ZPTC chair persons, panchayat secretaries of the villages,village sarpanch, ward memebers, village heads, and local youth, children attended. These camps are conducted in gram panchayat offices and also at center of the villages.
Students from different departments have participated and they shared their ideas and explained the importance of using clay ganesh and encouraged all villagers to use clay ganesh idols and then the villagers took an oath to use clay ganesh idols in the future as well.
Students also brought clay along with them and gave live demo on how to prepare clay ganesh idols. Local children also learnt how to prepare clay ganesha and they also prepared along with the students.
CEER department faculty and students with cooperation of college management distributed clay ganesh idols to the gram panchayathis and other local government departments nearby.
13 members from CEER department and 35 students has participated in this eco-ganesh idols camp
The Outcomes of this meet:
• The villagers took an oath to use clay ganesh idols in the future as well
• Gramsarpanch promised that they will setup 10feet clay ganesha idol in ganesh pandal
• Village canvas was done to encourage villagers to use clay ganesh idols
