About CIE

CENTRE FOR INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) was established at CMR College of Engineering & Technology in 2017. The aim of the CIE is to create an ecosystem for innovation, foster the culture of entrepreneurship, including incubation centers, and other initiatives for the creation and transfer of knowledge.

The purpose of this CIE is to assist students and ensure the proper coordination of all research activities within the Institute. It aims to align these activities with the vision and mission of the institution as well as with the national sustainable development goals through the CIE center.

Roles & Responsibilities of CIE

  1. To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities as prescribed by the MoE’s IIC in a time-bound fashion.
  2. Establish a functional ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas, aiming to enhance cognitive abilities among technology students.
  3. Organize periodic Ideation Day, workshops, seminars, and interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals to create a mentor pool for student innovators.
  4. Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organisations.
  5. Organize Hackathons, Idea Competitions, Mini-Challenges, etc., with the involvement of the industries.
  6. Updating Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship portal regularly to highlight Innovative projects carried out by our Faculty and Students.
  7. Identify and reward innovations and share success stories through MHRD’s Institute Innovation Cell.
  8. National innovation ambassador programs and national innovation start-up policy.
  9. To create awareness about Intellectual Property Rights and Patents, encourage Innovation and motivate them to apply for IPR/Patents.
