Dr. M. Nagaraju Naik

Professor, Department of ECE & Dean, Faculty and Student Affairs (FSA)

Dr. M. Nagaraju Naik occupies a critical executive position that directly bridges technical academic excellence with a vibrant, safe campus ecosystem at CMR College of Engineering & Technology (CMRCET). He holds a Ph.D. from Andhra University College of Engineering (2017), and 22 years of professional experience — including two years in industry and 20 years in academia — he brings deep technical grounding and institutional insight to both halves of his role.

Dr. Naik has authored 40 papers in National/international journals, the majority indexed in Scopus and UGC-CARE, He holds three patents and has served as Principal & Co-Principal Investigator on DST-sponsored projects, including a flagship initiative for tribal development in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. He has guided 20 PG and 35 UG projects, and has been invited as a session chair, keynote speaker, and reviewer at numerous national and international conferences.

On the Faculty Affairs side, Dr. Naik’s primary responsibility is to maintain the high academic benchmarks of CMRCET by managing the complete lifecycle of the teaching staff — overseeing strategic recruitment to fill critical teaching vacancies, steering peer-reviewed publication metrics, and supporting faculty research in SCI, Scopus, and UGC-indexed journals. He is also tasked with ensuring equitable teaching workloads across core engineering branches, resolving departmental or peer conflicts, and creating professional development paths that foster instructional excellence and pedagogical innovation.

On the Student Affairs front, he serves as the chief custodian of the campus environment beyond the classroom. His office directly shapes student well-being and satisfaction by managing vital infrastructure, ensuring quality control in student hostels, and overseeing healthy, hygienic dining facilities. He also governs student representation and campus life — including technical bodies, sports teams, and cultural clubs — while maintaining strict campus discipline and institutional accountability through robust grievance procedures.

In his ongoing tenure, Dr. Naik prioritizes building institutional trust through structured listening tours — meeting with department heads to audit technical competencies and engaging student council representatives on residential concerns. His continued review of student safety regulations, emergency response workflows, and anti-ragging measures ensures a secure, productive, and smoothly run academic environment at CMRCET.
