Dr. G. Devadasu is a senior academician and academic administrator currently serving as the Dean (Academics) Since 2023, IQAC Coordinator Since 2018, Head , Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering since 2004  at CMR College of Engineering & Technology (CMRCET), Kandlakoya, Hyderabad. He has been instrumental in strengthening academic governance, quality assurance, and outcome-based education practices across the institution.

He completed his B.Tech degree in 1997 from Nagarjuna University and earned his M.Tech degree in 2002 with a specialization in Power Systems and Automation from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He was awarded his Ph.D. in 2020 by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad.

With over 25 years of teaching and academic experience, Dr. Devadasu has taught a wide range of core engineering subjects, including Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Control Systems, and Power Quality. His research interests include Power Quality Analysis, Wavelet Transforms, Neural Networks, and Fuzzy Expert Systems.

Publications, Journals, and Research Impact

Dr. Devadasu has published 48 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences.

  • 17 publications are indexed in Web of Science (128 Citations, h Index-6)
  • 28 publications are indexed in Scopus (226 Citations, h index-10)
  • 48 publications in Google Scholar (320 citations, h index -12)

His research work is indexed and visible on Google Scholar, Scopus, and Publons, and has received significant citations from the research community. He also serves as a peer reviewer for reputed international journals, with his reviewing activity recognized on Publons.

Research Supervision and Projects

Dr. Devadasu is a recognized Ph.D. supervisor at JNTU Hyderabad, Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) University, Odisha, and Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Rajasthan. He is currently guiding two Ph.D. research scholars from GIET, Gunupur.

He holds nine patents and has successfully led two funded research projects:

  • Frequency Control and Voltage Control of Wind Power Systems
  • Analysis of Power Quality Disturbances and Fault Detection Using Adaptive Wavelet Networks

Academic Leadership and Accreditations

During his tenure, the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering received NBA accreditation five times, and the institution was accredited twice by NAAC. He played a key role in securing NBA and NAAC accreditations for multiple institutions and contributed significantly to the institute achieving autonomous status on two occasions. He has also served as a Board of Studies (BoS) member for various institutions and played a vital role in curriculum design and academic reforms.

Responsibilities as Dean (Academics)

As Dean (Academics), Dr. G. Devadasu is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the academic framework of the institution. His key responsibilities include:

  • Formulation and implementation of academic policies, regulations, and curriculum frameworks in line with autonomous and statutory requirements
  • Preparation and monitoring of the academic calendar, timetables, and academic scheduling
  • Coordination with Heads of Departments to ensure effective curriculum delivery and attainment of program and course outcomes
  • Oversight of quality assurance mechanisms and continuous improvement of teaching–learning processes
  • Coordination and support of NBA, NAAC, NIRF, and other accreditation activities
  • Mentoring faculty members in academic planning, pedagogy, and outcome-based education (OBE)
  • Acting as a liaison with statutory academic bodies such as the Academic Council and Boards of Studies
  • Ensuring compliance with AICTE, UGC, and university regulations
