Dr. B. Premalatha is a distinguished academician, researcher, and innovation leader with over 20 years of teaching, research, and institutional leadership experience. She currently serves as Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Head of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at CMR College of Engineering & Technology, where she plays a pivotal role in building a vibrant ecosystem for innovation, entrepreneurship, startups, and intellectual property creation among students and faculty.

She completed her B.Tech from Sri Venkateswara University , Master’s degree in ECE from JNTU Hyderabad , and earned her Ph.D. in ECE from Acharya Nagarjuna University .

Dr. Premalatha has published more than 60 research papers in reputed SCI and Scopus indexed journals and has filed four patents, with one patent granted. Her primary research interests include RF & Microwave Engineering, Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antennas, Smart Antennas, and MIMO antenna systems, with applications in next-generation wireless communication systems and also low power VLSI designs. She is a review board member for several prestigious SCI and Scopus indexed journals and has received Best Paper Awards in 2019 and 2020, recognizing her research excellence.

In her role as Head of CIE, Dr. Premalatha actively leads and organizes hackathons, ideathons, startup development programs, innovation challenges, faculty development initiatives, and guest lectures by industry experts and entrepreneurs. Through her leadership at CIE, Dr. B. Premalatha continues to drive innovation-led education, patent culture, startup incubation, and industry engagement, empowering students and faculty to become technology creators, entrepreneurs, and problem solvers.

She has been invited as a resource person and speaker at national and international conferences, workshops, and academic forums, and has served as an organizing committee member for several prestigious technical conferences, further strengthening academic-industry-research collaboration.
